The Major Bantam girls won all 5 of their games to become the gold medal winner in their most recent participation in the Belleville Spirits Hoop Classics tournament on January 29-31. They beat the Ottawa South Team on Friday January 29th with a win of 44-40. On Saturday the 30th they won their first game against the Kingston Cats with a 60-16 win followed by a second win later that day of 56-15 against the Kingston Impact. On Sunday the 31st they once again won their first game against the Etobicoke Thunder with a 48-39 win.   This was the Warriors first game against a division 1 team in Ontario. With only 10 girls on the team and with 3 girls being unable to play, the girls once again were victorious in their last game against the Pelham Panthers with a 35-30 win. Led by Coach Michael Lobraico and Dwayne Rose the girls rose to the occasion, overcame adversity and are champions in their first tournament of the season. Congratulations to all the players and coaches for a fantastic weekend and a job well done.
