2014-15 BMBA - Shay Colley Photo 1BRAMPTON LADY WARRIOR SHAY COLLEY SAYS YES TO THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA!

THE #1 RANKED WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PROGRAM IN THE UNITED STATES NCAA D1!!!

In a much anticipated year, Brampton Minor Basketball Association (BMBA), Brampton Lady Warrior and the best point guard in the country Shay Colley will be a South Carolina Gamecock!!!!!!

Shay Colley patiently weighed her options not looking for what others wanted but what was perfect for her and her future.

Shay has played for the Brampton Warriors organization for the last five years and has always been a player who led her team not just in words but in action. Her coaches could always rely on Shay to be at her very best every time she stepped on the court. Over the last few years, she has been coached by Head Coach Hugh Riley as well as Assistant Coach Jason Harris.

Head Coach Hugh Riley said of Shay, “Shay is a player that hates to lose and as a result, she spends a lot of time in the gym practicing and working hard. She is the best player that I have coached. She leads her team in many ways and is never afraid to carry the team when a game is close. Shay has a number of young players who look up to her as a role model. We look forward to bringing them to South Carolina to watch her play.”

Assistant Coach, Jason Harris had this to say, “We are extremely proud of Shays’ accomplishments and we expected nothing less than the best for her. She has always been a pleasure to work with, coming into the gym and getting the work done. We wish her nothing but the best at the University of South Carolina.”

Shay has not only played for the Brampton Lady Warriors but has been a pivotal member of both the Ontario Provincial team at different age groups as well as the Canadian Junior National Womens’ team, leading both teams to victories nationally as well as internationally.  Shay has represented Canada on many fronts and is an internationally known basketball player.

Shay is truly a testament that, with hard work, dedication and by doing what you love, great things will happen.

Congratulations Shay, from the BMBA!!!
