2014-15 BMBA - Brampton Warriors Major Atom Elite U12 Boys - Photo 1

The Brampton Warriors Major Atom Elite U12 team has once again proved that practice does in fact produce results. This great feat occurred on January 23- 25, 2015 at the Mississauga Basketball Tournament hosted by the Mississauga Monarchs. The boys were able to stay undefeated throughout the entire tournament, gaining victories over the Scarborough Blues (54-38), Oakville Venoms (62-24) and the Mississauga Monarchs (68-48) on Saturday.

These victories landed them a place in the gold medal game against the Vaughan Panthers on Sunday. Although arriving to the game with the intent to win, the Warriors started the game trailing behind the Vaughan Panthers.  Working cohesively as a team they were able to gain an upsetting (47-36) victory over the Vaughan Panthers. The Warriors were resilient throughout the entire tournament and definitely worked for their gold medals, making their coach Avery Brown and assistant coach Everton Lewis very proud.

Another highlight of the tournament came when Warrior #7 Manvir Virdi was chosen as a recipient of the Spirit Award. This award was given to an individual on each team who demonstrated themselves as a team leader, team motivator and role model. Congratulations Manvir!
