Signing Day In Brampton!!!
Early signing to colleges and Universities happened all over North America including the city of Brampton!
One of the early signees was Kayla Davis a.k.a. “Rookie” who signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Xavier Musketeers in Cincinnati, Ohio. When Kayla decided on Xavier, she not only wanted a great education, she wanted to be a part of something special. While undecided with her Major, she will continue to focus on keeping her grades a priority and strength and conditioning to compete at the next level. Kayla is looking forward to bringing all her skills and passion for the sport and contributing right out of the gate.
Kayla has spent the past 4 years representing Brampton Warriors with the last 3 being a part of the Elite JUEL league. Her dedication to the sport did not stop there Being a part of the Ontario Provincial Team and earning a spot on the Cadet National Team representing Canada at the Fiba Worlds was truly an accomplishment.
This past summer she was contributing on her AAU travel team representing AGAME Basketball where she was able to compete and showcase her skills which has brought her to this point. Her accomplishments did not come without sacrifices. Whether working out with her high school basketball program, rep program or Canada Basketball she has always been a humble and dedicated student to the game. She strives to achieve an academic and athletic balance. For this athlete it’s just another day in the gym or in the classroom.
Quote from Xavier Head Coach on signing day“Kayla is the consummate point guard. Offensively, she runs her team, sees the floor, and is excellent attacking off the dribble. She is an exceptional on ball defender with a very high basketball IQ.” -Coach Waugh
